Showcase of Works

by Paresh Choudhury

Paresh Choudhury was born in Bhutmundi in Orissa, India. As a child, one of his earliest artistic influences was his father who loved to paint as a hobby. Paresh was also influenced by Orissa’s cultural tradition of using watercolours, as well as the traditions of small heritage towns such as Khurda and Cuttack which he used to visit.

Mythological calendars and a particular children’s magazine called ‘Chandamama’ also played significant roles in nourishing his artistic palette as a young boy – such that he won prize after prize and award after award for his talent.

Later on, he enrolled on a BFA at the BK College of Art & Craft in Bhubanerwar, moving on to study an MFA in Fine Arts at MS University in Baroda.

His works tend to capture his keen observations of the environment around him – and the elements of sensuality and amusement contained within it.
